I really enjoy coffee. Particularly filter coffee. I, for the most part, like it so much I refuse to put anything in my coffee. No milk, no sugar, no alcohol. If I have a particularly bitter cup of coffee I might add a dash of salt to make it less bitter.
Gear gatekeeping and snobbery are dumb. Coffee is one of those areas where people will spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on gear, have strong opinions on preparation and technique. I appreciate them! It’s just not for me. Single serve coffee drip bags are great. Aeropress is great. I greatly enjoy gas station coffee. I also deeply enjoy specialty coffee. I love a $2 cup of coffee and I love a $20 cup of coffee. They’re different experiences but also the same. Espresso, americano, latte (and other milk-coffee variants like flat white, cappuccino, macchiato, etc.). They’re great! My go-to is filter (pour-over) coffee.
Even though my go-to method of coffee is pour-over, I very rarely use a scale to measure. I just pour till it feels good. Sometimes I pour not great coffee! Part of the experience. I also mostly buy ground coffee for convenience.
